For a pre-season fixture, this contest was extremely entertaining. A goal feast provided by world superstars.
Juventus name an extremely strong starting XI, including Ronaldo alongside serial winners Leonardo Bonucci, Mario Mandzukic and Federico Bernardeschi. Spurs started a more youthful XI including promising striker Troy Parrott, Oliver Skipp and Tanganga. World record signing, Ndombele started on the bench.
30 minutes into the game, came the first goal courtesy of Erik Lamela. He was there to tap in a shot from Troy Parrott which Buffon managed to get hands to. A great sight for Spurs fans, seeing Troy Parrott, a highly rated striker getting involved in his first ever senior start.
Tottenham made 5 changes at the break including Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko. Juventus took back charge just under 20 minutes into the second half with 2 consecutive goals coming from Ronaldo and Higuaín. Great pair of goals, just showcasing how much of a threat Juventus could be in Europe next season.
Their lead didn't last for long, due to Tanguy Ndombele having a dream debut. Moments after entering the pitch, he snatches the ball away from Juventus, threads a beautiful pass through Juventus defence to Lucas for him to slot past Buffon. 2 touches. His third touch? A fiery shot which flew inches wide of the post. Impressive from the Frenchman, just highlighting to the world why Spurs fans have been on the hype for him.
The game looked to continue to penalties, however Harry Kane had other ideas. Out came his superb strike from the halfway line, completely lobbing Wojciech Szczesny, a former Arsenal keeper. A sweet moment for Spurs fans. Stunning the 50,000 inside the stadium.
