Three weeks after reporting for basic military training, Sonny graduates earning an accolade in the process!
Following South Korea’s 2-1 win against Japan in the 2018 Asian Games, Sonny ensured himself exemption from a career threatening 21 months of mandatory military service in his home nation. This means all that is required of him is to complete 3 weeks of basic training and collect roughly 500 hours of community service by the year 2023.
Son reported to his training camp on April 20th where he was faced with tear gas and chemical warfare training as well as basic rifle training. Since then, numerous images have surfaced depicting Son in full military gear bearing an M-16 assault rifle.
Korea’s still strict social distancing regulations meant that Son’s graduation, held Friday morning, was closed to the public. However, this didn’t stop dozens of eager fans from waiting outside the complex for their chance to see the Spurs superstar.
Sonny finished his 3 week basic training course ranking within the top 5 recruits in his class and earning a perfect 10/10 record in shooting.
He also got a Perfect 100 on the mental strength assessment!
Son is expected to return back to his home in London next week.
